Supplies Youll Need To Smoke Cheese
Since youll be cold smoking cheese, pick a relatively cool day for smoking to keep your grill below 90°F.
Wintertime is the best time to smoke cheese but it can be done any time of the year.
Other tools youll need are:
- Smoker or smoke tube: if your grill or smoker isnt designed to do cold smoking, I recommend getting a smoke tube to create smoke without producing heat.
- Thermometer: to ensure your smoker maintains a temperature of less than 90°F.
- Wood chips: small wood chips work best to keep the smoke going without catching flame.

How To Make Grilled Cheese In The Oven
There are actually a few different ways to make grilled cheese in the oven using a sheet pan.
Anyhow, one method calls for using two half sheet pans, with the second pan placed on top of the sandwiches to speed up the cooking time. Give it a try if you like, but I didnt find this method to be very effective.
The grilled cheese sandwiches I made using this technique were unevenly browned and took about the same amount of time to cook. Plus, I was left with additional equipment to clean up and you know how much I haattteeee doing dishes.
The oven-baked grilled cheese method I use only dirties a single half sheet pan for 6 sandwiches. For each sandwich, simply spread the outsides of two pieces of bread with softened butter, layer with the desired number of slices of cheese on the inside, and place them on the baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for about 10 minutes, flipping the sandwiches halfway through cooking.
TIP: Are you ready for me to really blow your mind? Pick up one of these XL baking sheets, and you can actually make TWELVE sandwiches at once!!!
Voila! Pull out your big batch of hot and melty grilled cheese sandwiches and serve with your favorite soup.

Prepping And Grilling Your Halloumi Cheese

Just slice the block of cheese into thick pieces about 1/3 inch so they dont fall apart on the grill. Itll sound squeaky as the knife goes through it, kind of like chewing cheese curds which is always fun.
Heat your grill or grill pan to medium-high and throw the cheese on a for about three minutes per side until those lovely golden brown char marks appear. Remove from the grill and serve its that simple!
The result is a warmed, salty, chewy-hard cheese perfect for all kinds of uses but especially as a base for this bruschetta or thrown into this simple grilled peach summer salad.
The possibilities seem endless really. Add halloumi to some vegetable skewers and grill it that way, make a cheese sandwich out of it maybe with some fresh pesto, chop it up small and add to a summer grain salad, place it on top of a Portobello burger for one heck of a vegetarian option.
Whatever you do, just make sure to grill some halloumi this summer!

What Temperature Should Grilled Cheese Be Cooked At
What temperature should grilled cheese be cooked at? For the perfect grilled cheese sandwich, you should set your electric griddle to 275 degrees Fahrenheit, that is. If you have an electric griddle, it should be really easy to adjust the temperature to the way you want it. Otherwise, you can use a saute pan and keep it at a low-to-medium heat for the best effect.
Do you cook grilled cheese on high? It might be hard to accept, but a good grilled cheese requires patience. So resist turning the dial to high heat it wont cook your sandwich faster. Instead youll end up with burnt bread outside and unmelted, undercooked cheese inside.
How do you know when grilled cheese is done? Add two slices of bread, butter side down. Cook until bread is golden and cheese is starting to melt, about 2 minutes. Flip one piece of bread on top of the other and continue to cook until cheese is melty, about 30 seconds more.
Why does my grilled cheese get soggy? Use a hearty slice of bread, but not too thick. I find that 1-1.5 is best depending on the type of grilled cheese that I am making. Anything less than 1 will make a flimsy, soggy grilled cheese and anything too thick will not allow the cheese to melt properly.

Grilled halloumi cheese is one of the easiest things to cook and one of the most satisfying things to eat. Its equally good on salads, like my Cucumber Tomato Avocado Salad, as it is served with slices of baguette or pita bread, fresh tomatoes and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar.
Halloumi falls into the category of cheeses with a high melting point, which means it holds up well on a grill or in a skillet. Golden brown on the outside, soft on the inside. Delightful all around!

Grilled Macaroni And Cheese Sandwich
This grilled cheese sandwich is stuffed with creamy macaroni and cheese for double the gooey cheesy deliciousness.
Remember when I mentioned I was making my one serving macaroni and cheese for another recipe? Well, this is it.
A few weeks ago, we had the macaroni and cheese grilled cheese sandwich from The Grilled Cheese Truck. I thought it was tasty, but something I could easily recreate at home. So I did.
Ive been a little obsessed with grilled cheese lately, so expect to see some more variations in future posts.
Yesterday our new patio set arrived. And of course, today we had a crazy storm. The weather was definitely strange today. Most of the day was extremely hot, in the continual heat wave that has lasted more than a week now. I didnt actually realize how bad it was until I read that theyve even shortened the school schedules. I never experienced any shortened days due to heat before! Then in the afternoon it started to rain. I had heard of the possibility of a storm, but it seemed so unlikely given how hot and sunny it was. And then suddenly the rain turned into a full-on storm, with thunder and extreme winds. The winds were strong enough to actually knock over a bunch of our fruit trees, though luckily we were able to save them.

Tips For The Perfect Grilled Cheese Made On A Griddle
I have compiled some tips to make this experience a little easier. These tips will help you keep some pointers in mind when making a yummy grilled cheese.
There are various kinds of cheese available in the market, and it can get a bit confusing. The safest is to reach for your trusty sliced cheese, and you can top one on another and use as much cheese as you desire.
With the sliced cheese, you can use grated cheese and also your favorite topping to go with it. Choose the kind of cheese which will go with the topping you like.
One important thing to keep in mind is to use just enough cheese to cover the whole bread, or you will be left will a whole lot of cleaning due to the overflowing of cheese. So the best for the purpose is opting for cheese slices.
The right amount of heat is crucial for a golden brown grilled cheese that makes your mouth water instantly. Keep the griddle at a constant heat of about 275 Degree F and get the perfect crisp.
At a higher temperature, the bread will get burned, and the outcome would be less than enjoyable.
Do not press on the bread even if you want to as it will flatten the bread and cheese might flow out unless you like a flattened sandwich.
Also, flipping the sandwich every 5 minutes is required for even cooking and brown sides.
