This Is The Best Veggie Bagel Sandwich
Bagel sandwiches bring me right back to the collage years, when people actually ate bagels. Gosh I miss those days!
My favorite was always the veggie bagel sandwich on an Everything Bagel, typically from Einsteins Bagels, with the veggie cream cheese and all the fresh veggies they had. I LOVED this sandwich.
I dont eat bagels a ton, but I have found a new to me gluten free bagel that I love from Trader Joes so I have them on hand more often now.
When lent Friday rolls around, I crave a good veggie sandwich and why not put it on a perfectly toasted Everything Bagel?
I added an extra layer of goodness with a spicy avocado hummus . There are plenty of brands that are similar, like Hope hummus.or just pick which ever hummus you like best to layer on this sandwich.
So much good stuff..
I like to add a pinch of black pepper to my veggies, then top the arugula with drizzle of olive oil.
I just love the chive cream cheese on this, but you could sub any type and vegan cream cheese if you are vegan. On a non-vegetarian day, I will have to say that some thick cut bacon would be delicious on this too !
Here are the veggies I like but you sub your favorites: cucumber, red onion, tomato, bell pepper, arugula, avocado. I love Havarti cheese, but you could do Provolone, Pepper Jack, Munster.anything really!
This sandwich is super satisfying. I devoured half after I made them and then saved the other half for the next day- they are great leftover too!

What Are Bagel Bites
These air fryer bagel bites are a copycat recreation of the popular freezer snack, made with just a few ingredients cooked in the air fryer for quick and even cooking. The end result is just as good: crispy mini bagels covered in gooey tomato sauce and melted mozzarella cheese.
Bagel bites are traditionally cooked in the oven, but if you have an air fryer on hand, youll find that this method takes half the time and creates a perfectly bubbly crust that youre looking for.
Bagel bites can taste like your favorite pizza order just on the smaller side! Load up your air fryer bagel bites with tomato sauce, a bit of mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, peppers, onion, or whatever topping your heart desires. After a few minutes, youll have a tasty, cheesy, and savory snack.
Air Fryer Bagel Bites Oh Yes
If you have an air fryer, youve gotta try cooking these up in the air fryer! Air fryer bagel bites have that extra satisfying crunch and cook in less time than the oven.
The key is to cook just until the cheese has melted. It wont brown in the microwave, so err on the side of caution. You can always put them back in for another round if theyre not warm enough yet.

Healthy Cream Cheese Bagel Bites
These bagel bites are made primarily from just Greek yogurt and flour, but theyre so fluffy and delicious! The bagel is chewy, light, and nutritious, the inside is filled with cream cheese, and its topped with everything bagel seasoning.
You may or may not have seen the 2-ingredient bagels that have been circulating around the internet for a few years, but I’m here to put a new twist on it: healthy cream cheese bagel bites!
The famous 2-ingredient bagels are made from just Greek yogurt and self-raising flour, but I made a few adjustments to it to add more flavor and a bit more nutritional value. I have to say, I was skeptical about bagels made primarily from yogurt, but these bagel bites seriously impressed me.
They’re fluffy and chewy, filled with cream cheese, and topped with everything bagel seasoning! It really is the dream combo. But if everything bagel seasoning isn’t your thing, you can top with cinnamon sugar or leave it out. Either way, this is such fun way to turn your breakfast into a nutritious, tasty finger food.

Bagel Bites Were Sued For Fake Cheese
To add insult to injury on the whole cheese debacle, Bagel Bites was actually sued back in May 2021 over its cheese. The allegation? That Bagel Bites’ cheese isn’t “real”
The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin and highlighted the fillers and thickeners used by the Kraft Heinz Food Company as the culprits that made the mozzarella fake. The suit alleged that people would not have purchased the snack or would not have paid as much had they known that the mozzarella contained additives. The suit also claimed that in calling the cornstarch- and cellulose-thickened topping “tomato sauce,” the brand was further misleading consumers.
The plaintiff, a Wisconsin resident, first filed a similar suit in New York before filing in Wisconsin, ostensibly, according to Food & Wine, because of the latter state’s identity as a cheese-producing area.

Tony Hawk Was A Major Factor In Bagel Bites’ Success
It’s pretty clear from Bagel Bites’ advertising that the brand positions itself as the teen snack food of choice, but that wasn’t its first aim. When the Bagel Bites brand first entered the marketplace in the 80s, it actually geared its advertising towards moms. It wasn’t until the turn of the 21st century that it opted to shift its focus and market to tween boys. This shift proved to be an incredible success for the brand. A major part of that success came thanks to skateboarding legend Tony Hawk .
At the time, Hawk was a bastion of cool: a legend of alternative sports and a role model for many young Americans. He appeared in a popular radio media tour, touting the snacks and increasing their cool factor for the brand’s new target market. The campaign led to a whopping 32 percent increase in consumption and forever changed the brand image of Bagel Bites from wholesome snack to cool, after-school nosh.
