BACON CHEESE FRIES RECIPE

This is a personal choice, but I think the best Cheese Fries are made with steak fries that you season yourself with seasoned salt.

I dont recommend the already seasoned steak fries they sell in stores because the flavor can be over whelming when combined with all the toppings.

Fast food style thinner fries are a good back up option, however they usually dont hold up to the toppings as well as steak fries.

Also, in a pinch, a crinkle fry is a good runner up to the steak fry. They are thicker and will do a little better than the thin fries.

Prepare the fries however you would likein a traditional fryer, air fryer or in the oven. You just need hot fries!

If you are preparing the fries in something other than the oven, make sure you still preheat the oven so you can pop the fries in and melt the cheese right at the end.

These Texas Cheese Fries are next level in all the right ways. They are always the first to go at a party.

Is A Plate Of Baconator Fries Considered A Meal

Wendys prepares this side dish by topping fries with Applewood Smoked Bacon, cheese sauce, and shredded cheddar cheese, which has enough calories to fill a full meal. On a plate, thats a heart attack. These 490-calorie French fries include more than twice as many calories, fat, and sodium than Wendys value-size fries, as well as more than half of a days saturated fat. When you combine this cheesy, fried dish with a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, youve got yourself an 860-calorie dinner with more than a days worth of fat. While this is preferable to the 960-calorie Baconator Burger, it still isnt doing you any favors.

How To Cook Your Fries

There are quite a few ways you can cook your fries for this recipe. My preferred way to cook them is in an air fryer. It doesnt use too much oil and they are deliciously crisp. If you have an Actifry this works in a similar way.

If you dont have either of these, you can cook your fries in the oven. I would cook them at 190ºC for 20-30 minutes until they are crisp. Make sure you turn them half way through cooking.

If you wanted to make these Cheese & Bacon Loaded Fries even easier, you could use shop bought oven cook fries instead. It doesnt get much easier than that!

How To Make Bacon & Cheese Loaded Fries

We like the extra crispiness of making French Fries in our Cuisinart Air Fryer & Toaster Oven. The fries can also be prepared in the oven according to the directions on the package.

Set air fryer toaster oven to air fry and 400 degrees F. Bake for 12 14 minutes. Stir or shake a couple of times while baking, but keep the fries in a single layer. Shake salt on fries to reach desired flavor.

Once fries have reached desired level of doneness pile the fries up in the center of the basket or pan. I like to take blocks of cheese and shred cheese evenly over the top of the tries. Monterey Jack and cheddar are my favorite combination, but the restaurant that inspired this recipe uses mozzarella and cheddar. Lots of combinations will be delicious!

Sprinkle bacon bits over the cheesy goodness. Return to oven for 1-2 minutes at 350 degrees F until cheese is melted. Then garnish with green onions and serve warm with sour cream.

    Bacon Ranch Cheese Fries

Loaded fries are a delicious and indulgent treat. They have become a lot more popular in recent years. When I was growing up the only loaded fries I was aware of were cheesy chips!

Since then, loaded fries have become a lot more extravagant mostly due to the influence of American style food. You see them topped with all sorts of things like chilli and steak but all of them have cheese.

I kept my Cheese & Bacon Loaded fries relatively simple with the toppings. Instead I added more flavour to the actual fries with chilli powder and garlic.

    Ranch Bacon Cheese Fries Ingredients

The ingredient list is fairly short and easily varied, so dont feel like you need to stick to

    • Frozen French fries- I like using a classic fry, but you can also do showstring, steak fries crinkle cut. Waffle fries, even hash brown, really anything. Whatever you do, make sure you have crispy fries.
    • Dry ranch seasoning-make your own or grab a packet of seasoning at the grocery store.
    • Freshly shredded cheese sharp cheddar, mozzarella and feta cheeses. Swap any of your favorite cheeses out, but using a variety is what makes this cheese fry recipe the best. Try to use freshly shredded cheese instead of bagged shredded cheese which is often tossed in some sort of starch to prevent clumping.
    • Green onions- also known as scallions, also feel free to use chives.
    • Crispy Bacon- cooked and crumbled or grab bacon bits at the store.
    • Ranch dressing- for topping or dipping. If your whole crew loves ranch, feel free to drizzle, but if they are going sit the ranch will make them a little soggy.

Other variations of these loaded fries include shredded chicken, sour cream, jalapeno peppers and hot sauce.

This recipe also uses double ranch. Dry ranch seasoning on the frozen fries to season while baking and then actual ranch dressing for dipping or drizzling.
