The double bacon Quarter Pounder with cheese seemed perfectly cooked to me.

In addition to the healthy serving of bacon, the burger had two patties, two slices of cheese, pickles, onions, and a sesame-seed bun.

It was juicy and flavorful, but in the end it was a case of too much of a good thing. Had it been slightly smaller, it would have taken the No. 1 spot.

The Spicy Quarter Pounder with Cheese is a new promotional burger at McDonalds UK and will be on-sale from Wednesday 7th October until Tuesday 17th November.

On its own, the Spicy QP costs £3.39 , with a Medium and Large Meal costing £4.89 and £5.29 respectively all subject to variation based on where you are and what drink you choose.

As you can see from the ingredients list, there is nothing new on the Spicy Quarter Pounder, its just the first time this ensemble of items has featured on the same build.

The Spicy QP is now the fourth McDonalds burger in the UK to feature jalapeño slices the pickled chilli peppers have previously been available on the Big Spicy Bacon, Signature Spicy and Nashville Chicken.

I would also wager that the spicy ketchup is the same sauce we got on the Nashville Chicken and before that, the Louisiana Stack.

As of writing, you can add bacon but the big news is that you can add an extra beef patty for £1.00 to make it a double!!

I believe this is the first occasion McDs have given its UK customers the opportunity of adding an extra patty to your burger.

To say I am excited about the prospect of a Spicy Quarter Pounder is a massive understatement and it was all the restraint I could muster not to double it up for the review. Next time, definitely.

When I opened the promotional clamshell I wasnt greeted with the most appealing looking burger.

The first thing to consider is the difference between onions in the Bigmac and the Quarter Pounder. The Bigmac has very small finely diced white onions. The quarter pounder with cheese has slivers of white onions about 1 inch in length. This is crucial. To recreate the exact flavor of McDonalds food youll need to follow these steps very carefully. Trust me the flavor will be the same but it will be so much better.

If you want to make a quarter pounder start off with the slivered onions that are shown in the top right of the above photo. The bottom left shows the finely diced onions used for double cheeseburgers, cheeseburgers and Bigmacs.

McDonald’s customers will be able to pick up a brand new burger in restaurants from today.

It comes as the fast-food chain announces a major menu shake-up for the summer, with a new launch and returning favourites.

The brand new BBQ Quarter Pounder with Cheese is made with 100% British & Irish beef, two slices of melted cheese, fresh onions, pickles and the delicious combination of ketchup, mustard and BBQ sauce.

And while Mozzarella Dippers are off the menu, Garlic Cheese Bites are back, which will be available both as a single portion of five or a Sharebox.

The McFlurry menu is also getting a makeover, with Aero Chocolate and Aero Mint removed to make way for Twix and Mars options.

The new additions join the McSpicy which launched on July 14 and is proving popular.

Mcdonalds Is Bringing Back Six More Menu Items Including The Apple Pie And Double Quarter Pounder With Cheese

cDonalds has announced it is expanding its limited post-lockdown menu again, this time adding another six items to the roster.

Having initially reopened its restaurants with a reduced selection of food items in order to help kitchen staff work within social distancing guidelines, the fast food giant is gradually reinstating popular dishes to its menus.

The hot apple pie and all three varieties of the Chicken Legend burger will return to UK McDonalds menus this Thursday, as will the double quarter pounder with cheese, which was trialled in summer last year and will now join the menu for the long haul.

The Apple Pie and Chicken Legend range have been among the most frequently requested missing items from the menu, McDonalds said in a statement.

Whilst the Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese, which proved incredibly popular in August 2019, returns for the long-haul and benefits from the Governments VAT reduction, available now for £4.29.

All items will return at a cheaper price than they were listed pre-lockdown, as McDonalds has use governments VAT cut for restaurants to reduce its menu prices.
