How Long Can This Dip Sit Out
This dip is made with dairy products, such as cream cheese therefore, it should not remain at room temperature for more than 2 hours, maximum! If you are bringing this dip to an outdoor event, such as a picnic or football party, I recommend keeping it in a cooler until serving time. Upon serving, I recommend serving the dip from a shady or covered area to avoid any direct sunlight and harsh heat!
Recipe For Quick Cheese Dip
Ingredients for the cheese dip.
For this cheese dip you will only need 4 ingredients: butter, flour, milk and cheese. Add some salt and cayenne pepper if you like.
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring all the time with a spatula. Whisk in half of the milk and cook until slightly thickened. Then gradually add the rest of the milk and cook until you get a creamy sauce about 1-3 minutes.
Turn heat to low and stir in the cheese until smooth and all of the cheese is melted. You may add up to two tablespoons more milk if the consistency is rather thick. Season with salt and cayenne pepper, to taste.

How To Make Cheese Sauce Step By Step Photos
Start by placing 2 Tbsp butter and 2 Tbsp flour in a small sauce pot.
Heat the flour and butter over medium flame and whisk together until they become bubbly and foamy. Continue whisking for about 60 seconds. This mixture is called a roux and is what will thicken your sauce. Letting the roux cook for about 60 seconds slightly toasts the flour and gets rid of that raw floury flavor, but you want it to stay blonde, so if it begins to brown, remove it from the heat.
Whisk in one cup of whole milk. Turn the heat up slightly and let it come to a simmer . Because the small volume, it should come to a simmer very quickly .
When it reaches a simmer, the milk will thicken. When its thick enough to coat a spoon like in the photo, turn off the heat.
Whisk in 6oz. shredded medium cheddar, one hand full at a time, until it is melted into the sauce. If needed, put the pot back over a low flame to help it melt, but the residual heat should do most of the work.
Finally, season the sauce with 1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp chili powder.
Taste the sauce and adjust the seasonings if needed. And thats it! Now you have real ingredient, really delicious, homemade nacho cheese sauce.
This post either just ruined your life or made your day. Or maybe both.

How To Make Restaurant Style Mexican Cheese Dip
This cheese dip is crazy delicious and super easy to make. I love to serve it in the cute little salsa bowls that you can find at most Mexican restaurants. In fact, I !
We started making this a long time ago in fact, it was when we had our first experience at a Mexican restaurant. I just started venturing out in the world of making homemade foods. My daughter and I hit the stores up looking for the ingredients to try and create our favorite cheese dip at home.
I have to say we succeeded. It turned out even better than we expected it to.
You can double or triple this recipe to make enough for your next get together. I have never tasted anything like this cheese dip. I will be honest, I like it even better than I do the actual Mexican restaurant cheese!

Three: Choose Your Dippers
Now that youve put your dip together, youll want to decide what to dip in it. Fruit, vegetables, tortillas and bits of toast are obvious choices, but you can also of course provide other dippers, like chicken fingers, fries, and pretzels. As long as it tastes good covered in cheese, you can bet that it will go well with the dip.
Why This Is Life Changing
This Queso Dip recipe is for everyone out there who has attempted to make a Mexican cheese dip like what you get at Mexican restaurants and found it lacking. If you want the dip to be silky smooth like the stuff you get in jars, then the recipes call for fake cheese Velveeta or other processed cheeses.
Other recipes are made starting with a roux butter & flour which is used to make a béchamel sauce into which cheese is added. While this makes a terrific cheese sauce for pouring over vegetables, in lasagna, gratins etc, it doesnt have that truly silky and rich texture of a cheese dip.
Some recipes call for real cheese and varying combinations of cream / sour cream / mayonnaise but the problem with these is that when the dip cools down, the cheese congeals. Its super tasty but you need to keep it warm. And it has a tendency to split when rewarmed.
The solution? Evaporated milk + cornflour/cornstarch + cheese = silky smooth rich cheese dip / sauce. Truly. It works.
Actually, I shared Nachos Cheese Dip a couple of years ago which is a simpler version of this dip. This Queso Dip is my copycat of the fake cheese dip I tried in Canada and the ultra addictive dips served at Tex Mex restaurants in America.
Dont make this Queso Dip when youre home alone. Im supposed to be on my Post Holiday Health Kick and its taken astronomical will power to hold back.
Ive got 3 batches of this Mexican Cheese Dip in my fridge. Im planning to offload them tomorrow. Nagi x

Can I Make Cheesecake Dip In Advance
You can absolutely make cream cheese fruit dip in advance! In fact, I recommend making the dip ahead of time, so the flavors have a chance to develop, mix and meld!
For the best flavor, I recommend making this dip at least 8 hours, or up to overnight in advance. However, you can make it up to 3 days in advance without sacrificing the texture!
To make in advance, transfer the dip to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator until ready to serve. If you are using any fresh fruits as a mix-in, wait to stir them in until the day you are planning on serving. Also, make sure you hold off on adding any toppings and garnishes until just before serving.

Only Three Ingredients In The Cheese Dip
Its such an easy appetizer recipe to make because it only requires three ingredients including sausage, cream cheese, and Ro-Tel.
Ro-Tel ingredients include Rotel tomatoes, green chilies, and a few spices that give it a little kick.
The dip is not only a cinch to make but somewhat changeable if youve got people coming over that dont eat spicy foods.
I made this dip with spicy sausage, but you can make it with mild, as well.
If youre not a big sausage fan, you can also switch it out with turkey sausage. There are a lot of options when making this dip.
The dip tastes fantastic while its still warm. We didnt even wait to get it out of the skillet. We just grabbed some chips and started eating while it was hot.
The amazing dip is perfect with tortilla chips, crackers, or pita chips.

What Is The Best Cheese For Queso
When it comes to crave-worthy queso, the key is to use cheeses that have a sharpness to them. Extra-sharp cheddar accomplishes that wonderfully. To balance the sharp cheddar, I added full-fat cream cheese to provide additional tang and smooth out the dips texture.
If sharp cheddar isnt your thing, you can use other cheeses. In fact, most restaurants actually use Velveeta or American cheese to make their queso. If you decide to use either of these, use the same amount as you would for the cheddar. Because both of these cheeses are made for melting, you can dice them instead of shredding.

How To Make Chili Cheese Dip:
On the Stovetop:

How Do You Make A Smooth Cheese Sauce
To get the smoothest cheese sauce possible, follow these golden rules:
- Use full-fat cheese that you grate yourself as bagged cheese has additives that can prevent it from melting smoothly.
- Let the shredded cheese sit at room temperature for a short time so youre not putting cold cheese into hot liquid.
- Remove the sauce from heat before you stir in the cheese. Overheated cheese can clump.

Garlic Herb Cream Cheese Dip Ingredients
- Cream cheese For best results, allow to come to room temperature before mixing. We prefer full fat cream cheese for this dip.
- Milk Just a little, to make the dip creamy and dippable. We prefer whole milk.
- Garlic Clove Dice finely or crush a small clove with the side of your knife blade, or use a garlic press. You can use garlic powder in a pinch, but fresh is definitely better.
- Seasoned Salt Store bought or use your own homemade favorite. I love Lawrys Seasoned Salt!
- Optional Garnish I think minced chives just make a creamy dip look extra special!
Cheesy Rotel Dip Variations
This is such an easy recipe that you can literally grab and wild free with. There are so many variations that you can do to this Rotel to make it your own, here are a few of my favorite variations for it:
- Chicken- You can use grilled chicken breast instead of the ground beef for a lighter finish. Plus who doesnt love a good chicken and cheese combo.
- Jalapeños- are you a lover of spice like me? You can add either pickled jalapeños or fresh jalapeños for an extra kick.
- Sour cream- Top your cheese dip with some sour cream to add freshness to your appetizer recipe.
- Herbs- Cheese, ground beef, and herbs are a match made in heaven.
- Extra cheese Try sprinkling your ground beef Rotel dip with some sharp cheddar and broil it for a few minutes for a delicious bubbly, cheesy, hot dip!
- Drain your Rotel canned tomatoes for a thicker cheese dip.
