The Horrific Basis Of Five Nights At Freddy’s
The smash hit indie horror game series Five Nights At Freddy’s drew a lot of inspiration from a real life crime that took place in Aurora, Colorado in 1993. That was when Nathan Dunlap, a recently fired former employee who’d been disgruntled about hours, walked into the Chuck E. Cheese where he used to work and waited around in the bathrooms till closing time. He then walked out and opened fire on the employees still in the building. Four employees, Ben Grant, 17, Colleen OConnor, 17, Sylvia Crowell, 19, and Marge Kohlberg, 50, wound up dead. A line cook named Bobby Stevens was shot in the face, but he survived, and it was his testimony that convicted Nathan Dunlap, and he was sentenced to death three years later. He’s one of the main cases people talk about when the merits of the death penalty are brought up. Honestly, part of me wonders why getting fired from Chuck E. Cheese would be the breaking point that makes someone commit multiple murders, but there’s no way to know the answer to that.

Chuck E Cheese also offers a bunch of different Chuck E Cheese cake options as well as other themed options like Barbie, Hello Kitty and Batman. We bought one of the 8 round cakes but if youre doing a party with lots of kids and adults, Id go with their 1/4 sheet cake option that serves 18-20.
You can get a cake in vanilla or chocolate as well vanilla or ice cream to go with it!
Or bring in your own cake if youd prefer, although Im all for keeping it easy and ordering a Chuck E Cheese cake was easy.
Chuck E Cheese isnt just for the kids! With fun games, different food items, and free WiFi, the parents and adults that came to our party had just as much fun as the kids. Well, maybe not quite but almost. And there was definitely an epic battle of who could beat my little brother in Skeeball. It was not me.
Another nice perk to inviting parents is having other adults to help you keep an eye on the kids. Chuck E Cheese does an awesome kid safe check where you get stamped at the door with your kids and then those kids cant leave without their corresponding adult.
It definitely makes me feel better to know that some random person cant walk out with my son if I happen turn my back for one second.
Chuck E Cheese Please
The giant, friendly mouse is the one place that our kids will mention every other week it seems. They want to go and play video games more than anything, so we decided to cash in one of their coupons. Now, Ill be the first to mention, when you go into a business and theyre open, its probably not encouraging to see carpet squares all over the place being ready to be laid down in a section of the arcade. Granted, seeing it first mightve been better than actually stepping onto the upsidedown sections with whatever sticky putty was being used to lay them down with. Some of our family walked onto these pieces, because they were literally in the walkway after the turn station. Yes, looking down does help when walking, but when youre looking around at all the games, I think its an honest mistake on our part.

Is 11 Too Old For A Chuck E Cheese Birthday Party
My youngest sons birthday was last month. He turned 11 and celebrated with a Chuck E Cheese birthday party.
But Im getting ahead of myself. Two months before his birthday, I visited CEC Headquarters and was surprised by some of the new things they are doing including incredibly yummy pizza. During the tour, I kept thinking to myself how much my boys would love it.
Now, you might be thinking, Wait!Isnt your son too old for a Chuck E Cheese party?
Truth be told, when I asked my then 10-year-old son if we could celebrate his birthday with a few friends at Chuck E. Cheeses, I was met with some resistance. In his head, Chuck E. Cheeses meant a long table with everyone wearing party hats and Chuck E. dancing and singing. I assured him that no one has to wear hats, and we would request that Chuck E. not sing and dance for his party. And then I said two magical words that finally convinced himunlimited tokens.
We invited his friends, and I invited the parents to stay and have dinner.
That is where I was met with more resistancewe were going to willingly eat Chuck E. Cheese pizza?
Oh yes, my friends. You will thank me later.
Chuck E Cheese Menu Options
Every kid gets two pieces of pizza included with any of Chuck E Cheese birthday party packages, but if youre like us and have adults or older siblings coming as well, I definitely recommend ordering some more things off the main Chuck E Cheese Menu as well.
While the menu doesnt have a ton of variety, they do have a bit of something for everyone including individually packaged gluten free pizzas that my sister-in-law and her gluten-free family really appreciated.
Its one of the few places Ive seen where they literally cook the pizza inside the sealed package, so theres no possibility of cross-contamination. The only downside was they only had gluten-free cheese pizzas available and only in a personal size.

We went with the traditional pizza, wings, and a veggie platter to round out our comfort food extravaganza. The kids all loved eating at their own special table and two pieces of pizza each was enough to keep them going for playing all the Chuck E Cheese games!

Our Chuck E Cheese birthday party confirmed to me that older kids WANT to be involved in all the fun, but are hesitant sometimes because of what their friends might think.

Carol Brown just wanted to go to her grandkid’s birthday party. She attended three-year-old Robert Olchanski’s birthday party at a Chuck E. Cheese’s location in Southgate California, but there was no way to know that it would turn out so wrong.
It all started when the Olchanski party had a disagreement with a neighboring family about swearing, and when they politely asked them to stop, a riot broke out. “It got into a confrontation where they came across at our table and a number of us were assaulted and the table flipped and I ended up underneath of that.” she said.
