One Pot Mac And Cheese
I have all kind of macaroni and cheese recipes on the blog, and today I have a Creamy One Pot Macaroni and Cheese to add to the collection. This is a great recipe to make for lunch when your kids are in the mood for something simple, hot, and filling, and you need something that comes together in without any fuss. This recipe is so easy and we loved the extra creamy results.
My other stove-top macaroni and cheese recipe is still a favorite, but I don’t always have canned milk on hand. The difference between the two is that this recipes makes a really thick and sticky macaroni and cheese , and the other recipe has almost a runny sauce to it. They are both excellent but different enough that I wanted to share both recipes.
To Bake Or Not To Bake:
You dont have to bake the mac and cheese in this recipe. Everything gets fully cooked and is essentially ready to eat after the cheese and noodles are added. However, I love the extra gooeyness that comes when the cheese is baked and I think baking it adds a level of sophistication you just dont get without.

Shaping Macaroni Noodles By Hand
Equipment: rolling pin or pasta roller and a thin dowel like a wooden skewer or even a chop stick.
You can shape the macaroni by hand by following these steps:
- Roll the pasta dough out out very thinly
- Cut the dough into a grid of 1cm by 1cm squares
- Take each square and roll is around your thin dowel, pressing the ends together to close it into a tube
- Gently slide it off the dowel onto a flat floured surface in a single layer so it doesnt stick

How To Cook Mac And Cheese In The Microwave
How do you make macaroni and cheese in a microwave?
- Instructions Place the macaroni and water in a large mug. Place in the microwave for 6 minutes. After 6 minutes there will be a little bit of water left in the mug, leave it there. Mix in the cheese. Microwave for 30 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir in the milk, salt, and pepper. Serve hot.

Now its time for seasoning! Add about 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt If youre sensitive to salt, start really low and work your way upand remember that the cheese imparts quite a bit of salt to the mix.
BUTand this is importantbe careful not to UNDERSALT the mac & cheese. It really needs ample salt to put the flavor over the top.
*I also use paprika, cayenne pepper, even ground thyme every now and then. Play with different ground spices and see what you like best.
And finally, add plenty of black pepper, of the Black Dust variety. Honestly, I love freshly ground pepperbut not in homemade Mac & Cheese. For me, it has to be the powdery stuff.
