Heading to Puerto Plata in February and staying near Laguna Beach. Planning on buying groceries and alcohol. Looking at two nearby grocery stores including Playero and Super Pola. Any preference for either? Mainly want to be able to buy fresh produce, meat, cheese etc.
Super Pola is closer to Laguna Beach. You’ll find what you need. If you’re looking for imported brands, then Playero may have a larger selection but Super Pola has some too.
Meat: just a warning. Dominican beef is tough. Either get ground meat or “filete” . Else go for imported beef.

If you are there on a Tuesday all veggies and between 30% and 50% off.
Playero has a bigger selection of imported stuff but prices there are at least 10% higher or more on most products.
