Pasquallys Pizza Aka Chuck E Cheese Is Hanging By A Thread Called Giant Cheesy Bread
When news got out in late March that Chuck E. Cheese had started to sneakily identify as Pasquallyâs Pizza & Wings on Grubhub, folks chuckled at the companyâs seemingly impending demise. It appeared that the chain was hanging by a cheesy bread, unabashedly fishing for hungry third-party delivery users living in pizza restaurant deserts.
But Chuck E. Cheese announced in a July 8 press release that its alter ego is legit, it swears, and that the brand is bolstering its Pasquallyâs menu with new items, mentioning three additions to give us an idea of what the company meant when it said it was catering to an audience âwith more mature taste preferences.â
These âmatureâ additions are available starting Thursday. The items highlighted in the release are giant cheesy bread, twice baked wings , and an iced brownie for dessert. I suppose the spicy nature of its wings make the palate more mature â but I, an adult, wonât be impressed until the brownie is boozy.
âPasquallyâs Pizza & Wings is not a stunt or a short-term business venture for CEC Entertainment,â said Sherri Landry, the CMO of the franchiseâs parent company, CEC Entertainment, in a no-way defensive statement. âThe extension was created with a purpose to offer our guests another at-home option for delicious food.â

All of the more than 610 Chuck E. Cheeses locations around the country remain closed, with no public timeline for reopening amid the coronavirus pandemic.
But when the struggling eatertainment chain once again opens its doors to families for pizza and arcade games, it will operate much differently than it did before COVID-19, according to reopening guidelines shared by the Irving, Texas-based chain earlier this month.
Among the operational changes:
- Guest temperatures will be checked upon entering.
- Masks encouraged for all guests.
- Hands sanitized upon entry.
- Kids will be checked in with a photo, rather than a hand stamp.
- Prepackaged salads will be sold in lieu of the salad bar.
- Birthday parties will only be held by private reservation, outside of normal business hours.
- Multiplayer arcade games will be limited to one player.
- Game prizes will be prepackaged, to limit time at the counter.
- Arcade games will be spaced at least 6 feet apart, along with booths and other seating.
- Stores will be sanitized every 30 minutes.
And the chains signature mouse mascot, Charles Entertainment Cheese, wont be strolling around, posing for selfies with kids, any time soon, according to a recent YouTube statement from CEO David McKillips.
Chuck E. Cheese himself will be resting until he gets ready to get back out on the dance floor, McKillips said.
Regardless of state reopening guidelines, Chuck E. Cheeses will not reopen our door just because we can, the chain said.
