Chuck E. Cheeses provides their own goodie bags if you book their Mega Super Star Birthday Package, which is what we booked because it includes pizza and drinks for the kids, unlimited all you can play and it even includes include ice cream, helium balloons and collective cups.
So, even though our guest were going to get a Chuck E. Cheeses goodie bag we decided to also make our own with an outer space theme. This is where the fun began, the birthday girl and I carefully chose every toy we put in the goodie bag, and she even picked the goodie bag itself!
I love involving my children as much as possible because I remember as a child how much I loved to be involved in the goodie bag process. Once we got all the toys my daughter assembled all the bags.
You can customize your bags with items that you buy, like we did, or if youre pretty crafty you can DIY all the contents in your goodie bag. I have done this in the past but its a lot more work for me and it has less involvement for the children, which is why this time we bought all the items in the goodie bag.
Customizing the goodie bag was definitively the highlight of the birthday prep for my child!

Chuck E. Cheeses provides a table cover but we can also bring your own. Since I couldnt find an outer space themed table cover, we decided to use the one from Chuck E. Cheeses and add giant planets all over our table.
My kid was very pleased with how this turned out and it only took us a few minutes to set it up!

When my daughter announced she wanted to hold her 4th birthday at Chuck E Cheese, my frugal brain immediately went to the cost. So I went on theChuck E Cheese websiteand was pleasantly surprised by the affordable options. Even when we go the party-at-home-DIY-route theres still the stress and time planning it all.
I truly love to throw parties, but not necessarily during the cold days of February, which happens to be my daughters birthday month. So this time I handed over the party planning reigns and heres what happened
Father Fatally Shot Carrying Daughters Birthday Cake Into Chuck E Cheese
HUMBLE, Texas The wife of a Texas father says he was gunned down in the parking lot of a Chuck E. Cheese while celebrating his daughters sixth birthday.
Calogero Duenes, 24, and his family had just arrived to celebrate his daughters sixth birthday Friday at a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant in Humble, Texas, according to Duenes wife, Amber Uresti.
Reports indicate Duenes was walking outside of the business when he got into an argument with another man. Nearby officers say they heard gunshots, and when they arrived on scene, they found Duenes suffering from multiple bullet wounds. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Uresti says her husband was shot while holding his daughters birthday cake.
Its a tragedy. I really cant wrap my head around it. Like, Im hurt. I cant understand how someone can do that to someone thats holding a cake, Uresti said. We just went to go celebrate my daughters sixth birthday. I mean, thats all he was tasked with. Thats all he had on him was a cake.
Uresti says she and Duenes had been together since they were teenagers. He leaves behind not only his 6-year-old daughter but also a 3-year-old daughter.
My husband passed without me, without anybody to hold his hand, to comfort him. I want justice. I want justice for my children, for Calogero, Uresti said.
Police say the suspected shooter fled the scene before they arrived. He was reportedly driving a burgundy Ford. The investigation is ongoing.

Of course, youre also welcomed to bring your own cake . Chuck E. will come out and sing with the kids and your party host will cut and serve the cake.
An 8 vanilla or chocolate cake is $13.99, and a 1/4 sheet cake is $21.99.

One of the best things about planning our party was being able to book it online. I hate making phone calls, and we were doing it at one of the Chuck E Cheese locations thats not nearby, so going in wasnt an option. The new system lets you select your package, how many people, your additional food or add-ons, and an available time/date all online.
Its seriously so simple just go to ChuckECheese.com to book up to 90 days in advance but seriously who knows when theyre having their party that far in advance?
You can make changes to lower the number in your reservation up to 24 hors before your party so book the max number you invited then give them the final number a day or two before.
If youd rather have the party space all to yourself, choose the VIP option when youre booking your party, and you can get in before the restaurants normal open hours! Thats HUGE right now with social distancing being so important.

Chuck E.Cheese Pizza is fine. If youre a kid crawling through those tunnels and blowing your allowance on arcade games, youre gonna be perfectly content to eat it. L.A. has a lot of terrible pizza, and this wasnt even close to the worst Ive had.
