  • How To Make Doritos Mozzarella Sticks

Step 1: Prepare the cheese sticks. Start by slicing the cheese string into halves. Set aside.

Step 2: Crush the Doritos. We want the Doritos to be crushed finely. Place them into a food processor or Nutribullet, and pulse a few times. We are looking for a sandy texture as can be seen in the picture.

Step 3: Set up a breading station by placing the flour, crushed up Doritos, and whisked eggs in separate bowls.

Step 4: Coat the string cheese. Take each string cheese, dip it in the flour, then the whisked eggs, and finally into the Doritos breadcrumbs. Coat until completely covered, and repeat the process one more time to make a double coating.

Step 5: Place the prepared cheese sticks in the freezer for at least 1 hour.

Step 6: Heat the oil to medium-high, and place the cheesesticks. Fry for 2-3 minutes until a light golden brown. Do not fry on high heat or the coating will easily burn.

Step 7: Transfer to a plate, and serve with your favorite sauce. I used Sriracha, but marinara would be great here too.

    Helpful Tips And Recipe Variations

    • Try to use 1 hand or 1 fork for dipping the cheese sticks in the wet ingredients, and another for the dry ingredients. This way, youll avoid clumping and making a huge mess.
    • Feel free to use Italian breadcrumbs instead of the plain kind and omit the Italian seasonings. Just make sure theyre vegan! A lot of brands contain dairy.
    • Help your sticks taste a little smokey with a dash or two of liquid smoke included in the wet ingredients.
    • If you have leftover cheese , you can melt it on pizza, in quesadillas, or slice it on a burger.
    • Not a huge fan of mozzarella or cant find any? You can use another vegan cheese, such as vegan cheddar or other flavor.
    • Are you nut-free? Dont worry! My mozzarella recipe can be made with silken tofu instead of cashews.

How To Get Rid Of The Smell Of Cooking Oil

The fried food was delicious while you were eating it, but its less than ideal when you can still smell the cooking oil odors the next day. Here are some ways you can eliminate the smell :

    • Ventilate! As soon as you start heating the oil for frying, turn on the hood vents. Weather permitting, open the windows, too. Air circulation is your friend.
    • Line the area around your workstation with newspaper. It will catch the splatter and help make cleanup easier. But be careful it doesnt get too close to the stove flames!
    • Clean up immediately. As soon as youre done cooking, dispose of the oil , clean the pot you used and clean your stovetop and counters .
    • Simmer some homemade potpourri on the stove. I like to fill a small pot with a couple cups of water, a few tablespoons of vinegar, and an assortment of spices and fruit peels and let it simmer until the water has evaporated to help eliminate the oil odors. Im a big fan of orange and lemon peels with a cinnamon stick.
    • When all else fails, bake! It feels like as good an excuse as any to make a batch of cookies or some banana bread. Your kitchen will smell great, and youll have even more delicious treats.

How To Dispose Of Cooking Oil

How to Make Homemade Mozzarella Cheese from Milk Powder

First things first, if you know youre going to do more frying soon just save the oil to use again! Let the oil cool, then use a coffee filter or cheesecloth to remove any crumbs, and store in an airtight glass container in a cool, dark place.

But if youre not saving it for another round, make sure to take the proper steps to discard the oil at home:

    • Pack it and throw it away. Let the oil cool completely, then pour into a non-recycleable container with a lid and throw it in the trash. Examples would be milk cartons, takeout containers, or other plastic or wax-lined paper containers.
    • Pour it in the trash carefully and strategically. Once oil has cooled, slowly pour into the center of your trash can on top of absorbent items like paper towels, or discarded kitty litter. You dont want it to pool into the bottom of the bag, because that could go south.
    • Freeze it and toss it. Pour cooled oil into an old can and place in the freezer. Once its solid, dump it into the trash.

How To Make Mozzarella Using A Microwave To Stretch The Curds

Step 1. Ladle the curds into a large microwaveable bowl and drain off the whey. We recommend using rubber gloves to protect your hands from the hot whey. Dont press too much on the curds to keep the mozzarella from drying out.

Step 2.Microwave for one minute, then fold the curds gently into the center of the bowl, draining off more whey. You can also Add 1 teaspoon salt for added flavor and extend the shelf life of your homemade mozzarella .

Step 3. Microwave for another 30 seconds. At this point the curd should be 160° to 170°F now. If the mozzarella curd isnt, microwave the curd for another 30 seconds. Once your homemade mozzarella curd reaches 160° to 170°F you are ready for the next step in your 30 minute Mozzarella recipe

Step 4. Stretch the curd by pulling it like taffy until it is soft and shiny. The more you work the mozzarella cheese, the firmer the cheese will be. Some of you will like a firmer cheese than other however we prefer a soft mozzarella cheese that melts in your moth.

    Tomato And Mozzarella Toasts

Its funny how using real tomatoes instead of pizza sauce turns this into a perfectly acceptable breakfast!

The only downside here is that you need to roast your tomatoes first, so they become sweet and extra juicy.

But its so worth it when you take that first bite.

Alternatively, you could also try frying them on the stovetop with a bit of garlic and oil.

It will be faster, but you need to keep an eye on them and keep them moving.

How Do You Stop Pork Chops From Drying Out

    Homemade Mozzarella Cheese

Pork chops are a great cut of meat, but they can dry out if they are cooked too long in a skillet.

Instead, I like to sauté my pork chops in the skillet until golden brown on both sides. I then top the chops with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese before baking them in the oven.

The rich tomato sauce, and opting to bake them in the oven, results is deliciously moist and tender pork every time. You should always rest the pork chops for 5 minutes once they come out of the oven.

  • Do I Have To Freeze Mozzarella Sticks Before Frying

How to make Fresh Mozzarella Cheese recipe – Home Made DIY

It is so important to make sure the mozzarella cheese sticks are frozen before you start frying them. Why? Because that way the breading will cook without completely melting the cheese. You want the cheese to still be intact and but warm when it is finished. So, the best way to get this result is to freeze the cheese sticks several times throughout out the cooking process.

Use Too Much Mozzarella At A Time

We often want to shred as much Mozzarella as we can in a time so that we can witness the pretty picture of cheese shreds coming out.

However, too much Mozzarella going in the shredder at one time makes the shredding clogging easily.

Once logging is not solved properly, the cheese will come out badly in shapes and sizes, and you will have to take time to clean everything before starting shredding again thoroughly.

    Can I Bake Mozzarella Sticks

Yes, you can make homemade mozzarella sticks without frying, by baking them in the oven. However, I find baked mozzarella sticks have a higher risk of error since you cant monitor their cooking as closely. You are more likely to end up with melted white blobs than stretchy homemade cheese sticks!

Not to mention, baked mozzarella sticks arent all that healthy either. You are still chowing down on big sticks of breaded cheese. Might as well fry them in oil, get better flavor, and have a better chance of them cooking to perfection.

If you still wish to attempt baked mozzarella sticks I recommend freezing the cheese prior to breading and baking them in a 450-degree oven until golden brown and the cheese threatens to ooze out. Freezing the cheese buys you a little more time before you have a melted disaster.
