It shouldnt happen often with a Keto cheddar cheese sauce, but if it does come out too runny, we can always make it thicker.

Many cheese sauce recipes are thickened with using a flour-based roux, but as you know my keto cheddar cheese sauce doesnt require flour as a thickener. We thicken our cheese sauce by usingactual cheese!

A combo of cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese mixed with some butter and heavy cream is all thats needed to make a nice thick cheese sauce. So if you find it needs to be thicker, just add a bit more cheese and that will do the trick.

Can I Use A Different Type Of Cheese In Avocado Chips

From what I have seen you can run into issues if you play around with other cheeses. Parmesan is a lot drier of cheese, so it will affect the consistency and could leave chips extra dry. Mozzarella is a lot softer cheese and could make your chips not crisp up all the way.

If you do play around with different kinds of cheese, take into consideration it could affect the texture of your chips. I am not saying you cant make them work you might have some trial and error issues along the way. I have not tried making them with a different type of cheese, but if I do, I will report back.

Ah, Velveeta. It seems to be the perfect liquid gold out there, right? Well, if youre on a keto diet, then you might want to think again before eating a slice.

While Velveeta is easier to melt and might taste pretty good, the carb count isnt that great. Velveeta has 3 grams of carbs for every 1oz. It also has about 3 grams of sugar and only 6 grams of fat.

Velveeta also isnt really cheese. At least not anymore. Its made up of milk protein concentrate, milk fat, and whey protein.

Remember that sugar count? Velveeta contains more lactose than normal cheese. Obviously, this is because of how much milk it is made with. In contrast, real cheese is made with very little lactose.

Not to mention that Velveeta has very little nutritional value. This is why I say to steer clear of Velveeta while on keto. There are plenty of other cheeses to choose from, and trying different things can help you get out of your comfort zone.
