Chuck E Cheese Brings Back Sensory Sensitive Sundays For Kids With Autism Special Needs
On April 11, all Chuck E. Cheese locations will open two hours early to host the Sensory Sensative Sunday events.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – During Autism Awareness Month, Chuck E. Cheese announced the return of its program for children with autism and other special sensory needs.
The program creates dedicated playtime that offers a quieter dining and entertainment environment, dimmed lighting and a sensory-friendly arcade experience.
On April 11, all Chuck E. Cheese locations will open two hours early to host the Sensory Sensative Sunday events.
The events will continue throughout April and many locations will reintroduce the program the first Sunday of every month for the remainder of 2021.
For many years, weve hosted Sensory Sensitive Sundays to ensure that Chuck E. Cheese is truly the place where every kid can be a kid, said CEC Entertainment Chief Marketing Officer Sherri Landry. Weve heard from families that they appreciated the program and how much theyve missed it while its been paused during the pandemic. Bringing back Sensory Sensitive Sundays during Autism Awareness Month is a fitting way to celebrate and support these children and their families.

We all had a nice time eating and playing games today! The young man at the prize counter was super friendly, and helpful!! Kids Restaurant Arcade & Entertainment Center Made Autism Friendly
When designing this event, we took great care to ensure elements of the restaurant were toned down to be more sensory-friendly for children of all ages. The sound effects and volume of arcade games are turned down or off to ensure kids can play all the games they want in a sensory-sensitive manner. We also turn down the volume of the in-store entertainment show, and only have Chuck E. come out for the Ticket Splash Show upon request, to be mindful of all childrens needs. Additionally, in select locations, birthday parties can be coordinated during Sensory Sensitive Sundays events.

TOPEKA, Kan. Kids with autism and other special needs will be able to enjoy Chuck E. Cheese in an environment they are comfortable in.
On Sunday, the Topeka location will offer Sensory Sensitive Sunday. The event includes trained and caring staff who works to make sure each guest has fun.
There will be dimmed lighting, a quieter environment, music will be turned down or shut off, and there will be access to all games and rides.
The store will be open two hours before the normal opening time.

GREEN BAY, Wis. Parents who are looking to take their kids to a place where they can expel some of their energy, will not have to look far from the Titletown District.
According to the company, they will host two events on Wednesday, Nov. 10. During the day, a family from Boys & Girls Club will be the first kid to play in the newly remodeled building. Then in the evening, Chuck E. Cheese will welcome the larger Green Bay Community for a grand reopening event.
The first 25 families in line will get a complimentary arcade play for up to two children for the two-hour event. The event is scheduled to run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Were looking forward to welcoming the Green Bay community back into our newly remodeled location, said Sherri Landry, CEC Entertainment Chief Marketing Officer.
