I didnt know what real cheese tasted like. I managed to locate a 12 year old bottle of wine and finally understand what an excellent cheese and wine can do. As soon as I finish this block I will order another. Now you have me looking for a 14 year old cheese. Customer service was excellent and delivery fast. Once again AWSOME really doesnt do it justice it just melts in your mouth.

Im not really a cheese person. I bought this for the wife. She absolutely LOVES it I once got up in middle of nightheard something rustling around a bit. heading towards kitchen and noticed a light in there.
Got to the kitchen and the wife was standing at the fridge with her back to me
None the less, she was standing at the fridge, door wide open with her head looking down and arms doing something in front of her.
She was eating some of this aged cheese. Once I saw that, I knew it was a home run.
Ended up buying some for Xmas gifts and reports back on those are also home runs.

Would order again? Yes. It really is a great cheese to pair with wine or just snack on. And this had the best mouthfeel out of all the cheeses tested. Downside is the price and small package size.

This was a good cheddar but once you add the high cost of shipping I would not recommend to a friend.
Shipping with the larger carriers is getting more expensive each year. We charge exactly what the cost is from them with a small handling fee. We find that it is worth your money if you buy a larger quantity or else on the website we do have a map of the places that sell our cheese. You could check that and see if there are any close to you. Thank you!

We stumbled on the Widmers six year old cheddar in a grocery store in Wisconsin a few years ago, and loved it. When we found the web site, we knew we had to try the 10 year old cheddar. The 10 year cheddar is so good it is unbelievable. Smooth and sharp at the same time. For those who think the shipping cost is too much, order more cheese. I ordered an assortment of different cheeses, + 6 lbs, and paid only a few cents more in shipping than if I had ordered 1 pound. This brings the entire cost down. Also, take into consideration where you live, and the climate. I buy twice a year, when the weather is cooler, March and November. So,worth it, and the cheese makes great gifts.

Laclare Farm Raw Cheddar Goat Milk Cheese
Goat cheese has only A2 casein, instead of both A1/A2 from cows milk, which supposedly makes this easier to digest which is why this was selected to test. Secondly, goat milk is also ideal for those looking for hypoallergenic alternatives to normal cows milk cheese. Goat cheese plus cheddar combined was too much of an idea to resist to not taste test. The goat cheese flavor is still there but it has that cheddar boldness you want.

Would order again? Yes. This is one of my favorite personal cheeses, it works in situations where cheddar works or where goat cheese works, making it a versatile cheese. About This Taste Test
I have been an avid reader of Consumer Reports, Cooks Illustrated / Americas Test Kitchen and the newer Wirecutter when it comes to evaluating products to purchase. One thing that is that is clear among these publications is that they all optimize and taste foods or devices based on their own preferences. This is why they are great because it helps filter out the less than good products.
However, when looking for a cheese taste test one day, I wanted to see the taste test data about a certain cheese. I wanted to see what it looked like and how it looked when melted but I could not find the visual information. I decided to do this post to show all the extra taste test information in addition to my filtered suggestions. My personal tastes skew towards sharper and longer aged cheddar cheese after ranking all these cheeses. The extra information included in this post will hopefully help those who are looking for something more specific to their tastes that do not align with my own.

Cabot Vermont Sharp Cheddar Cheese
If you love sharp cheeses, then you will love the Cabot Vermont Sharp Cheddar Cheese.
