How To Thaw Uncrustables
We make a point of making a boatload of these frozen PB& J during our weekly meal prep sessions. It saves a ton of time and money throughout the week. Now I have a freezer full of frozen peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for easy lunches for my on-the-go kids!
They thaw easily on their own in a packed lunch or toss them in the microwave for 20-25 seconds. Plus I love that I can control the quality of the ingredients in their sandwiches versus the store bought products.
Now to figure out what to do with all of the crusts A French Toast Casserole perhaps?

What Kind Of Cheese Should I Use For Grilled Cheese Uncrustables
My family loves when I make these ham and cheese uncrustables with cheddar cheese. Using thin sliced cheddar cheese gives these tasty sandwiches a great cheese pull.
You can also use sliced American cheese or even colby jack. I think colby jack would give these sandwiches the best cheese pull. Im definitely going to try to use colby jack next time I make these easy grilled cheese sandwiches.
Frankly, any cheese will work and work well. Its cheese after all.

Freezer Friendly Grilled Cheese Sandwiches: Freezer Meal Sandwiches
It may sound odd. It may sound like a stroke of genius. Have you ever thought about prepping and stashing cheese sandwiches in your freezer? Why would someone do such a thing? Oh, there are reasons, lots and lots of real-life reasons.
A recent frozen cheese sandwich story from my life: the kids and I had just returned from an hour hike in our wilderness. We were hungry and ready for lunch. We also needed to hit our homeschool reading stacks and spread out other lessons. Lunchtime is always a big transition time around here since we do most of our homeschooling in the afternoons and early evenings. That morning I tossed about a 16 frozen cheese sandwiches in the refrigerator. Once we returned from our hike, and I helped other kiddos get school books ready, I had my 14-year-old son plug in our griddles and get to work grilling the cheese sandwiches. A miracle of miracles those cheese sandwiches make fantastic grilled cheese.
These freezer-friendly grilled cheese sandwiches are just as simple and easy as the freezer peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Im always thankful for freezer sandwiches. I hand out fruit choices to the kids along with the grilled cheese sandwich and we call it lunch.
How To Make Uncrustables
So whats the formula for making awesome homemade uncrustables? First things first my secret to non-soggy thawed PB& J sandwiches.
The key is spreading a thin layer of peanut butter on both slices of bread. The peanut butter acts as a sealant, which keeps the jelly from touching the bread and prevents the sandwiches from getting soggy when defrosted.
Use about a tablespoon of jelly or preserves and keep it confined to the center of the bread. Be careful of using too much jelly the contents will burst through the top of the bread during the cutting and sealing steps.

Promising review: “I bought FOUR of these in different colors for my four English setters. I absolutely LOVE them. I don’t have to pin anything together, which for these two younger setters is so dangerous as they will bite at the pins until they get them undone. The quality of the product is excellent. The hook and latch material is extremely grippy and stays where I put it. I would give these a 10 stars if that were available. I’ve had drying coats made in the past that cost two to three times as much that I don’t like as much.” SetterLover

How Can I Keep These Sandwiches Warm In A Lunch Box
If you want to keep these sandwiches warm in a lunch box you are going to need to warm your uncrustables sandwiches in aluminum foil once they have been heated up.
Make sure you wrap the sandwiches tightly so that none of the warmth escapes. Ive also used a thermos like this one to keep these uncrustables sandwich warm.
To use a thermos to keep them warm, you will need to prime the thermos first with boiling hot water. Allow the hot water to sit in a stainless steel thermos for about 10 minutes to warm all the insulation of the thermos.
Once the ten minutes is up dump the water out of your thermos and wipe the inside of thermos with a paper towel to dry out the inside of the thermos.
Now, place your sandwich in and close the lid. Using this method is the best way to keep your sandwich hot.
Works like a charm every time.

The D Word: Just Like Starting Over
Pranksters Id planned on telling you a hilarious story about my roadtrip, but some nasty divorce shit came to light yesterday and instead, I must write this post.
Hi, my name is Becky, Im 32 years old, and I have never lived alone.
/hangs head in shame
I guess thats what happens when you get knocked up at age twenty and move back home, proverbial tail between legs, only to pop out an infant. Then, I was lucky enough to live with my parents until I met and got married, shortly after Id graduated nursing school and passed the state board exam.
I was 24.
And while, for the past ten years, Ive learned some stuffs about running a household, Dave and I had handily split responsibilities, which, while easier at the time, meant that Ive not learned how to do it all. Not that I cant, but that I simply do not know how to off the top of my head.
In totally related news, I am moving out to my very own apartment. It shatters me to tell you that, but for now, it is the right thing to do. Unfortunately, due to some circumstances namely that is nearly impossible for both Dave and I to live together and be healthy I will have to move soon much sooner than Id thought. But it is now impossible for me to recover and get healthy in my current living situation.

How Do I Freeze Uncrustables
If you want to freeze your uncrustables just like if you were to buy them from your local store in freezer aisle, Ive got some tips to help you do this.
First, you will need to make your sandwiches by following the directions below. Once your have assembled your uncrustables you need to allow them to cool completely.
Once your sandwiches have cooled completely, using plastic wrap or press and seal wrap, wrap each sandwich tightly individually.
After you have wrapped sandwiches individually, place all wrapped sandwiches into a freezer safe container or freezer bag.
Now, that you have your sandwiches protected from freezer burn you can place the bag or container of sandwiches in the freezer for up to three months.
Want to store your sandwiches for longer than three months? You will need to use a vacuum seal machine and vacuum seal your sandwiches individually. Once they are vacuumed sealed they should last about 6 months in the freezer.

Imagine this: It is 2009, and you just got off the bus from school. You open up the freezer, pop open a Smuckers Grilled Cheese Uncrustable and put it in the microwave. All is good. Unfortunately, I bring you this harrowing message today 6 years after Smuckers Grilled Cheese Uncrustables have been discontinued. Now to some, this may seem like a pointless and comedic attempt to amuse, but to me, and hopefully a large majority of you out there as well, this is about bringing back one of the greatest microwave snacks in the history of our nation.
The Smuckers Grilled Cheese Uncrustable was discontinued in 2014, much to the dismay of many around the world. With this petition, I hope and intend to bring back the product and am hoping for at least 10,000 signatures from you, the devoted reader. Once again: This is not just a stupid petition for attention, this is a call to action for all of those people in the world who are tired of misrepresentation in the consumer industry, who want equal representation, and of course, who want a quick and easy grilled cheese in less than a minute. Thank you for taking the time to read this, please sign the petition, and Godspeed.
My Favorite Uncrustable Maker
Ive used the Pampered Chef Cut-N-Seal in the past, but I wasnt thrilled with the very small sandwiches and large amount of wasted bread. I spied this sandwich sealer at Walmart the other day and figured at that price it was worth a try.
Note that I found it on one of those vertical hanging holders in a random grocery aisle. I checked the kitchen gadgets sections and it was not stocked there.
While it did fall short of the one-step sealing and cutting claim, after a bit of trial and error, it easily produced perfectly cut and sealed peanut butter and jelly sandwiches !
NEW: I just stumbled across this round uncrustable maker online! It cuts and seals just like the square one I own.
I also found this 3-pc. sandwich sealer set that makes round, square, and triangle-shaped uncrustables. Plus it has a smaller cutter for cheese and deli meats, which seems really useful. If you try it, Id love to hear what you think it has excellent review!

What Kind Of Bread Do I Need For Cheese Uncrustables
My family likes when I make these uncrustable sandwiches with white bread. We really enjoy how soft some of the white bread is.
You actually can use any type of bread that your family prefers including whole wheat bread.
I dont recommend using bread with seeds inside though, because the seeds may not hold up well in the freezer if you are freezing your sandwiches. Also the seeds make it difficult to seal the sandwich right up.
No matter which type of bread you use your sandwiches will be extremely delicious. Im craving one of these grilled cheese uncrustables right now while Im typing about them.
Ready To Eat Your Frozen Grilled Cheese Uncrustables
They are simple to reheat. You can reheat your ham and cheese uncrustables right in your air fryer.
Preheat your air fryer to 390 degrees Fahrenheit for about three minutes. Or until your air fryer is completely warmed. Once your air fryer has preheated lightly spray your air fryer basket with cooking spray.
Place your sandwiches into your air fryer basket and cook for about three to five minutes. Theres no need to thaw your sandwiches, just cook the sandwiches frozen until they are warm in the center and your cheese is melted.
