Chuck E Cheeses Parent Company Is The Latest Victim Of Pandemic
A chaotic scene unfolded outside a Florida Chuck E. Cheese on Saturday afternoon when an altercation led to gunfire and a car crashing into the childrens arcade, police said.
The wild chain of events began inside the business in Brandon, Fla., when a fight broke out among a group of customers just before 5 p.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office said.
A private security guard was moving the fighting parties outside the Chuck E. Cheese into the parking lot when a woman pulled out a gun inside the building vestibule, according to the sheriff.
The guard attempted to wrestle the gun from the womans hands and at some point in the scuffle, the firearm fell to the ground in the parking lot.
A second woman scooped up the gun and fired at least one round into the air, the sheriff said. No one was struck by the gunfire.
She then lost the gun and a third woman snatched it and placed it inside a light gray Chevrolet Traverse, according to the office.
All three women were taken into custody, as well as a male suspect who was involved in the altercation, the sheriff said.
I am grateful that nobody was seriously injured as a result of this incident, Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement. Thanks to the swift and considerable response from our deputies, we have been able to quickly track down those responsible and take them into custody while the investigation continues into what led to todays events.
The investigation is ongoing.
Hillsborough Deputies Respond To Shots Fired Outside Brandon Chuck E Cheese

BRANDON A fight at a Brandon Chuck E. Cheese resulted in at least one gunshot being fired and a large law enforcement response to the business late Saturday afternoon, the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office reported.
Just before 5 p.m., the sheriffs office received calls about shots fired near the Chuck E. Cheese at 1540 Brandon Blvd. Responding deputies learned that a fight had occurred inside the business and that a private security guard had moved the crowd involved in the fight into the parking lot.
While that was occurring, a woman woman brandished a firearm inside the vestibule of the Chuck E. Cheese, the sheriffs office said in a news release.
The guard tried to get the gun, but the woman lost the gun outside of the business. Another woman then picked up the gun and fired at least one round into the air, sheriffs officials said.
That woman then also lost the gun, after which a third woman picked up the gun and put it inside a vehicle.
While all this was taking place, the driver of a white Audi crashed into the Chuck E. Cheese.
Sheriffs officials said all three women were in custody Saturday night, as was a man involved in the fight.
Deputies have not found anyone who was hit by gunfire. Two women and a child were taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered life threatening, though sheriffs officials did not say how they were injured. The driver of the Audi also was taken to the hospital.

The San Jose system were jointly named as “Library of the Year” by the Library Journal in 2004.

Shots Fired In Florida Chuck E Cheese Parking Lot During Altercation
Authorities in Florida are investigating an incident in which shots were fired outside a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant in an altercation Saturday, the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office said.
“No shooting victims have been located at this time,” the sheriffs office said.
The sheriff’s office got multiple calls about shots fired near the restaurant just before 5 p.m. Saturday. Detectives said that an altercation broke out inside the Chuck E. Cheese and that a security guard moved the crowd outside into the parking lot.
As the crowd was moving, a woman brandished a firearm in the vestibule and the security guard tried to take it from her.
“At some point, the woman lost possession of the firearm outside of Chuck E. Cheese, while another woman picked it up and shot at least one round into the air,” the sheriff’s office said. “The shooter then lost possession of the firearm, and a third woman picked it up and placed it inside of a light gray Chevrolet Traverse.”
All three women, as well as a male suspect, are in custody. There is no threat to the public, authorities said.
During the altercation, a white Audi crashed into the Chuck E. Cheese, and two women and a minor were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“The male driver was also transported to the hospital,” authorities said. “His involvement is unknown at this time.”
It’s not clear whether the crash was related to the initial altercation.
The investigation continues, police said.

That day, several people through social media, including , claimed Bushnell fostered a toxic work environment at Atari for women that became the foundation for the then-future video game industry, based on several documented interviews and accounts of Atari at the time of the 1970s and 1980s a notable example was of Bushnell holding board meetings in a and invited female secretaries to join them. Wu and others asserted that while Bushnell had done much for the industry, recognizing him with this type of award during the ongoing was sending the wrong message. Wu stated, “Nolan Bushnell deserves to be honored, but this is not the right time for it. It’s easy to draw a line between the culture he created at Atari and the structural sexism women in tech face today.” The “#NotNolan” was shared by those with similar complaints about the GDC’s choice.
The following day, the Advisory Committee reconsidered the selection of Bushnell for the award and announced the Pioneer Award would not be awarded, and instead it would be used that year to “honor the pioneering and unheard voices of the past”. Chuck E Cheese Company History Timeline
The first Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza Time Theatre opened on May 17, 1977 in San Jose, California.
Warner finally sold the restaurant and concept ownership to Bushnell in June of 1978 for $500,000.
One person interested in such a franchise was Robert Brock, whose Dallas-based company, Brock Hotel Corp., had 1978 profits of $4.6 million.
In November 1979 they found what they were looking for.
When Pizza Time went public in 1981 it increased Bushnell’s worth to somewhere in the range of $70 million much of it in Pizza Time stock.
